Great Weekend!

Hello everyone! I wanted to tell you about the great weekend I had:
On Friday, Laura came down and we made "healthy pizzas". They were made with whole wheat dough and tons of veggies-- asparagus, mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, black olives and a bit of goat cheese. De-friggen-LISH!!!
On Saturday, we got up early and drove an hour and a half to Buffalo to get our shopping on. I didn't end up buying much because I ran into a problem. In most stores, the 1x was too big on me and the XL was a little too snug :( It was kinda depressing. Guess I need to lose a bit more so that I could be comfortable in an XL (or a L, M or S ;) lol) I tried on a pretty cotton-blend dress from the Gap. The XXL fell off as soon as I lifted my arms, there was no XL but I was able to squeeze into the L, although I looked like a stuffed sausage, lol. Here is a dress I did end up buying from Target :)

For lunch I ate a chicken souvlaki pita (delish!) but on white since they didn't have a whole wheat option (?!?!)
The rest of my weekend was awesome. I spent it with my new and super amazing boyfriend. He cooked me dinner on Saturday night-- rice pasta, tomato sauce, chicken and a salad.
Sunday night I made up ice cream sandwiches :) Don't worry, I made them with homemade flourless peanut butter cookies and fat free frozen yogurt. AMAZING!

My Gourmet Gluten Free Meal

Turkey Meatballs and Penne Alfredo

Here is how I made my delicious gluten free meal:

Turkey Meatballs:
Ground turkey
Gluten free bread crumbs
Salt
Pepper
Egg whites
Garlic

Penne Alfredo:
Cereal Pasta (Bought it on Costco on the weekend and just tried it! Pretty good!)
Rice flour + margarine = rue for sauce
Skim milk
Fat Free Kraft Single
Herb Goat Cheese

Is it bad that I am extremely excited for my leftovers tomorrow? lol

So today I had an appointment with Dr. Som. We went over some of my blood work and everything seemed normal-- my glucose, insulin, cholesterol, hormones, etc. The only thing that was slightly elevated was my cortisol (the stress hormone). My morning cortisol level was a little high and my evening cortisol level was a little low. She gave me an Adrenal Support Supplement to balance my cortisol levels. She also received the results from my ultrasound. I still have ovarian cysts but everything else down there is looking good! lol. When she took my body composition it showed that I have lost 7 lbs of fat (since last being there), 2 lbs of water and 2 lbs of muscle. The muscle is a little bit of a concern but I can change that if I only got my ass off the couch and lifted some weights a little more often, lol. ;)
Anyway, that's all for now! Things are looking up! ;)

New Plan of Action

Hello everyone! I had a great weekend and was able to control my eating for the most part. I was sorta plateauing for the last week or so but I think I may be over the hump. I have been kinda slacking on a few things so this week I am going to try extra hard to be 100% back on track:
  1. I need to start taking my vitamins and supplements again. (I'm not sure what happened but I slowly started forgetting to take them.)
  2. I have not been taking my Inositol either :(
  3. This week I had a hard time remembering to eat a fruit with breakfast, so this week I will have to either take an apple for the road or remember to eat a fruit with my breakfast.
  4. Doing my weights, squats and crunches every night :)
Wish me luck this week! I'll keep ya'll posted! xo

Longevity Quiz

So, apparently I am going to live until in 92, lol. According to Dr. Oz and this longevity quiz used by insurance companies at least! They take your family history, habits and even how often you wear a seatbelt to figure out the age of which you will die. Check it out!

Lovely, eh? lol

Sooooo, I Need New Pants...

Hello everyone! Wanted to share a photo I took of myself today.

After I took the photo I noticed the lumpiness on the right side of my stomach. So that lumpiness is caused by my pants, which are about three sizes too big. I pretty much needed to pull them all the way up to my boobs today in order to keep them on, lol. Here is a picture of what it looked like under my shirt, haha. Don't worry there is no nudity, just a little tummy lol.

'Til next time! xo

East Side Mario's

Tonight the ladies from work went to East Side Mario's to celebrate Jody and Christie's pregnancies! When I go out for dinner, I usually scope out the menus in advance and try to find the best possible option. This time I didn't and right now I am going to figure out if the choices I made were good ones or bad ones. Ready? Ok, here we go!

So, I looked at the menu and narrowed my options down to the Portobello Panini or the Mariboli Wrap. I ended up choosing the Portobello Panini because a) the Mariboli wrap had bacon, and bacon = bad, and b) the Panini had more veggies and goat cheese which I love! Let's check the calories... Shit! The Portobello Panini has 970 calories and the Mariboli Wrap had 620!!! Wow, that's depressing. Although the sandwich was amazing! I know what you're thinking, a mushroom sandwich, but it was delicious. It had roasted red pepper, spinach and goat cheese on top of a yummy portbello mushroom!

East Side Mario's: Mariboli Wrap - 620 calories

Look Out Summer, Here I Come!!!

Hello everyone!
I just wanted to take a minute to share with you my weightloss plan this summer!
My workout regime at the time is very minimal. I take Russell out for a 30 minute walk every day... and that's about it. I really need to step up the weights and resistance training. That is why I am very excited about my summer plans.
A few months back, I had purchased a 2 month membership to T-Zone Vibrations from Wag Jag. You could choose any 2 months to use them and I decided to save them for July and August, when I have the most time. Tonight, my sister and I bought a new Wag Jag offer, a 3 month membership at Curves for $39! The only thing that blows about this Wag Jag is that it is only for the Brampton location but I am sure I will be down there enough and utilize it a lot this summer.
I am feeling very optimistic about getting closer to my goal this summer!

Are We There Yet?

Below are two pics of my goal dress-- one front view and one side view. I am wearing Spanx (the best thing on Earth!) but my question to you is, am I ready to go out in public in this dress or do I need to lose a little more weight? Be honest, you won't hurt my feelings, lol. Thanks all! xo
