Sensitivity Detox: Day 11

Good evening all! I had a horrible day at work today. The children were absolutely nuts and I am getting really antsy in my current position. I kind of miss teaching the older kids. On a different note, I'm starting to think that my dizziness might be due to my lack of glasses, lol. I was never a person to wear my glasses 24/7 but this school year I have wearing them everyday. Well, they decided to break last week and I've been going without. So maybe that's why I've been dizzy? Buh, I'll keep you all updated. I booked an optometrist appointment for next Wednesday. Yay! New glasses! I want something funky but sophisticated. Stay tuned!
Tomorrow, is a P.D. day at school, (thank God) so I have a meeting in the morning at the Holiday Inn and then off to spend the afternoon planning and cleaning up the classroom.
Anyways, off to bed soon! Here is what I ate today:

Breakfast:
Homemade Hummus (2 tbsps)
Mary's Organic Crackers (8)
Grapes

Snack:
Apple

Lunch:
Homemade Baba Ghanoush (2 tbsps)
Mary's Organic Crackers (8)
Heart of Romaine
Kraft Fat Free Italian Dressing (2 tbsps)

Dinner:

Mushrooms and onions

What a silly puppy! :)

Sensitivity Detox: Day 10

Happy Hump Day!
I'm almost done! Only 5 more days to go! I got a reply from my ND about my dizzy spells and she said we may need to change the support were giving to my adrenal galnds or modify my diet to change the balance of carbs/protein/fats. I'm not too sure that it is due to my diet because I've been eating the same carbs to proteins to fat ratio since like January. I guess I will have to wait until Monday.
I noticed that I haven't really talked about the supplements that I take.
Right now, I am taking:
Omega 3 Fish Oil (3,000mg/day)
CLA (2,000mg/day)
One-a-day Multivitamin (x2/day)
Calcium-Magnesium (x1/day)
Saw Palmetto (320 mg/day)
Vitamin D (800 IU)
Inositol powder (3 teaspoons/day) Herbotox Detox (x3/day)

This is a great chart I found that explains the benefits of different supplements. If you click on some of the supplements, they go in to detail about the supplement and it's effect of PCOSers.

What do you guys take? Any suggestions?

Sensitivity Detox: Day 9

Good evening, followers ;)
I am finally home from a long day at work and a long day of tutoring. I am still having dizzy spells and I tried calling my ND but she is not in the office until Thursday. I sent her an e-mail about it, I hope she gets back to me soon, they are becoming more frequent.
Laura and Will are coming over on Saturday so I am trying to find appetizer or dip recipes to make that I can enjoy as well. My options are: Sweet potato fries, Hummus, Baba Ganoush, Olive tapenade, Onion rings (made with rice flour), and a bean dip.
I found a recipe for White Bean and Tuna dip that sounds (and looks) delicious. I may have to try it out:

I may also try to make Falafels! I found this great recipe on http://www.canyoustayfordinner.com/ where I can probably substitute the 2 tbsps of flour for 2 tbsps of rice flour. How good does this look? Minusthe pita of course :(
                              falafel, souvlaki, BLT 071
I'm starting to get a little fed up with this eating plan. I miss my milk, fat free cheese, tomatoes, red peppers and occasional Coke Zero. I just want it to be over so we can figure out if I am sensitive to any of these foods. I am also out of inositol, I may go by the doc's tomorrow to pick some up.
Here is what I ate today:

Breakfast: (The usual!)
Homemade hummus (2 tbsps)
Mary's Organic Crackers (8)
Grapes

Snack:
Apple

Lunch:
Chicken breast (deck of cards)
Brown rice (1/2 cup)
Baby boy choy, brocolli and onions
Low sodium soy sauce (1 tbsp)

Snack:
Banana
Peanut butter (1 tbsp)

Dinner:
Brown rice (1/2 cup)
Low sodium soy sauce (1 tbsp)
Salmon portion

Kraft Fat Free Italian Dressing (2 tbsps)

Sensitivity Detox: Day 8

Hello lovelies!
Today was a pretty good day! When I woke up I was still tired, so I told myself I would try to make it an early night tonight. Work was good. You could tell it was a Monday in my class, lol. The children sometimes have a hard time getting back into the routine after a weekend. I've been feeling really dizzy lately, not too sure why. It's when I'm sitting down and then stand up, I have a few seconds of dizziness. I will mention it to my ND on Monday and see what she has to say. So the snow from that freak snow storm last night didn't stand a chance. It's looking muddy and wet outside now, since the temperature went up to about 13 degrees! Oh, and I forgot to announce... I gave away my first pair of "fat-pants" the other day! Yayyyy! Never going to see those things again.
Here is what I ate today:

Breakfast:
Homemade Hummus (2 tbsps)
Mary's Organic Crackers (8)
Grapes

Snack:
Apple

Lunch:
Salmon portion
Brown rice (1/2 cup)
Soy sauce
Zucchini

Snack:
Banana

Dinner:
Chicken (deck of cards)
Brown rice (1/2 cup)
Soy sauce
Broccoli, Baby Bok Choy & Onions

Freak snow storm last night!!!

Sensitivity Detox: Day 7

Hello everyone!
Not much to say today. For some reason I haven't had much of an appetite today so my eating schedule is a little off. Today, Chris and I went to Costco for the first time since we've moved to Kitchener in September! lol. I bought some goat cheese (for after my detox), some more of Mary's Organic Crackers and Falafel Chips! Yeah Falafel Chips. Thanks to Danielle who found these for me. They are gluten and wheat free, low sodium, certified organic and sooooo delicious! They are made with corn so although they are not great for me to have everyday, they are a perfect substitution for Tostitos for when we serve dips for company. We also decided to go to the Honda dealership :) But it was closed.
Oh, by the way, throughout the day it was beautiful. I was out running errands in a light sweater, the sun was shining and there was not a drop of snow on the ground... NOW, it's like a friggin blizzard out! On the brightside...snow day? :)

I was planning on getting my bloodwork done tomorrow, but I forgot to stop eating at like 7 so it will have to wait until next week. For those of you who do not know, I used to be an occasional smoker, smoking about 0-3 cigarettes a day. Not much, but enough to be addicted. I tried quitting a bunch of times before but I am proud to announce that I am currently 48 days SMOKE FREE! (and I plan on staying smoke-free!) Cheers to a great day with family and friends and puppies!

Me and Daisy, my niece :)

Sensitivity Detox: Day 5

Today was a day of many temptations! As I've said before, we have "Friday Treats" every Friday and today was mine and two other ladies' turns. I brought my fruit bouquet, and hummus with pita and the other ladies brought, veggies and dip, chocolatey-toffee squares, rum cake and a tuna dip. I was very good though, I had a nibble, and I mean a nibble of the tuna dip because I wanted to try it so that I can make it when I am not detoxing. It was the size of my pinky-nail, no joke, lol and pretty yummy so I will try to make it in a few weeks... as long as I don't end up being sensitive to dairy! lol. I come home and Chris is watching "Man vs. Food". I sit down and I literally couldn't watch. It was making me antsy! I started to miss my greasy food!!! I asked if we could change the channel so we started watching "King of Queens". That was fine until the commercials came on. I never realized how many greasy food commercials there are! lol. Then I realized my true problem... I was hungry, lol. Never watch tv when you're hungry! lol. So I cut up some banana slices and peanut butter and "Voila!" Ahhh, much better! Tomorrow I am heading to Brampton for my dad's birthday, I will pack some brown rice pasta and my mom said she will make me a chicken breast and some veggies.
This is what I ate today:

Breakfast:
Homemade Hummus (2 tbsps)
Mary's Organic Crackers (8)
Grapes

Kraft Fat Free Italian Dressing (2 tbsps)

Peanut butter (1 tbsp)

Dinner:

(I know, not the best dinner, but I wasn't hungry so it was more of a snack :))
